Political Theory Group wins University of Sydney-University of Copenhagen Partnership Collaboration Award

The Political Theory Group has been awarded a 2019 University of Sydney-University of Copenhagen Partnership Collaboration Award to fund a new research project on “Liberalism and the Future of Democracy.”

The purpose of the project is to examine new and practicable ways to defend and promote liberal democracy, particularly at the level of emotions and ways of living. The project will analyze whether liberal thought and politics possesses effective means to combat populism and the crisis of democracy, and discuss the extent to which government and civil society can and should support liberal democracy.

The project includes workshops and conferences at both University of Sydney and University of Copenhagen that will result in a series of joint publications. Anders Berg-Sørensen, Mads Ejsing, Lars Tønder will participate as part of the UCPH delegation. They will be joined by Alexandre Lefebvre and Abigail Taylor from University of Sydney.
